Morroco

As the African continent's lone representative, Morocco has a lot of ground to cover. It's not totally clear why it was chosen for Epcot-inclusion over its more familiar, accessible neighbors (Kenya? South Africa?). On the plus side, World Showcase visitors can experience its exotic flavor with a very minimal risk of roadside bombings.

Despite the crackdown on Islamic terrorists following attacks in 2003 and 2007, the U.S. State Department continues to warn U.S. tourists visiting the "real" Morocco to avoid:

- taking the bus
- going to casinos or bars
- looking too American
- jogging, and
- being a woman

So all things considered, it's probably a better bet to enjoy a quick five minute stop and enjoy the best Morocco has to offer (apparently painted tile and leather goods) in Orlando.

Don't feel guilty about having a Bud Light at this point. Considering that Morocco is something like 99% Muslim, it's not surprising that nothing springs to mind as a "classic" Moroccan alcoholic beverage. For the religiously illiterate, that's because the Islamic tradition forbids even so much as a sip of any intoxicant. It is an "abomination of Satan's handiwork" and considered one of the main sources of cultural decline and corruption in society. Praise Allah (and Muhammed is his Prophet).

Bottoms up and enjoy the irony!
